AirEntry Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
AirEntry is a pilot logbook. Your logbook is stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. This policy explains the few things that do pass through the AirEntry server, and why.
Your logbook
Flights, totals, settings, your roster and backups are kept on your phone (and in iCloud Drive or Files only when you make a backup there yourself). We cannot read them.
Email import address (optional)
If you create a personal import address, the server stores the address, your crew code and a hashed access key. When your Verified Flights email arrives, the server reads the flights from it and keeps only those flight details (date, flight number, registration, route, times and the crew codes in the email) until your phone collects them. The email itself is not stored. Collected flights are deleted straight away; flights not collected within 30 days are deleted automatically. Addresses not used for 13 months are removed. You can remove your address in the app at any time.
Instructor signatures (optional)
When an instructor signs one of your flights, the server stores the signature record so that it can be verified later: the instructor's name and licence number as typed, the drawn signature, a description and fingerprint of the signed flight, a random identifier of your phone, and the date and time. This record is the audit trail and is kept even if the signature is later removed in the app (it is then marked as removed). Anyone who has the verification link or QR code of a signature can view that signature record.
Roster and calendar
The roster is read on your phone. Calendar events are written only to the calendar you choose, on your phone.
Weather and flight tracks
To add METARs to a flight, the app asks public weather services for the reports of the airports involved (or the nearest weather station) at the flight's times. To show a flight track, it sends the aircraft registration and the flight's time to the AirEntry server, which looks the track up at Flightradar24. The server counts track lookups per phone (by a random identifier) and IP address per day to keep within its allowance; these counts are deleted after a week. Nothing else from your logbook is sent. A track you save is kept on your phone and in your own backups.
Subscriptions
Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your payment details. To check whether your subscription is active, the app uses an anonymous app user identifier and your App Store purchase records, not your logbook.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling of data.
- No analytics on the contents of your logbook.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of, or the deletion of, data the server holds about you (except signature records that other people rely on to verify a logbook, which can be marked as removed). Contact support@airentry.app.
